Sunday, February 8, 2026 – Update from Chief Flanagan
We continue to amass great amounts of knowledge that will help with federal servicing which will be instrumental in our goals to help our people and better our communities.
Update:
Happy Superbowl Sunday!
This week has been full of consultation with other tribal leaders about internal tribal projects, as well as our tribal archeologist about his findings regarding sacred sites in our treaty regions.
We continue to amass great amounts of knowledge that will help with federal servicing which will be instrumental in our goals to help our people and better our communities.
I am patiently waiting to hear back from either the DOC or the BOC about a meeting request I placed last week. I hope to get a response from the governor’s office for a meeting as well after myself and other tribal leaders have placed multiple requests to express our concerns about Millcreek Mountain in Franklin County. I will also be following up with The Corp of Engineers next week in hopes that I can get an update on the 404-permit situation. All may try to ignore us, but they will have to communicate with us sooner or later.
Be safe this evening everyone, celebrate responsibly and may the best team win!!
Thank you.
